foreignerphobia
Tomorrow is the first of two last days at Taneichi-chu. this school is home to my favorite students, whom i spent many hours playing sports, singing karaoke, teaching (after hours, outta my house), chilling at the beach and cooking for (sigh, won't miss THAT.) i have been dreading D-Day since I got here. although it's pretty unusual that because english class offered no opportunities to communicate with me -the students and i had forged areally meaningful friendship. one in which many years of false stereotypes and outright fear of foreigners, were hopefully forgotten. yeah, my time in Taneichi is almost up, but I hope my 'internationalization' mission over herewill continue in mind and spirit. Even if most of my 'efforts' were just me, being me, preventing boredom by just hangin out. tough job eh? i feel lucky to have had the opportunity to challenge others, while challenging myself.

I became an obsessive blogger while teaching in Japan a couple of years ago. I returned to Minnesota to finish my Master's degree. My boyfriend and I are moving to South Korea to try our luck in the Korean English classrooms this year :)
