foreignerphobia

Tomorrow is the first of two last days at Taneichi-chu. this school is home to my favorite students, whom i spent many hours playing sports, singing karaoke, teaching (after hours, outta my house), chilling at the beach and cooking for (sigh, won't miss THAT.) i have been dreading D-Day since I got here. although it's pretty unusual that because english class offered no opportunities to communicate with me - the students and i had forged a really meaningful friendship. one in which many years of false stereotypes and outright fear of foreigners, were hopefully forgotten. yeah, my time in Taneichi is almost up, but I hope my 'internationalization' mission over here will continue in mind and spirit. Even if most of my 'efforts' were just me, being me, preventing boredom by just hangin out. tough job eh? i feel lucky to have had the opportunity to challenge others, while challenging myself.
