MN: a day in the life: sayonara spicegirls

sayonara spicegirls

Today was a special sayonara hangout with my favorite san-nensei (9th grade) girls at Taneichi-chu. These girls are really sassy and its offered a welcomed respite from the typical 'shy, reserved and nearly-mute' junior high school students. The rain has magically subsided for some 24 hours and counting so most of the day was spent enjoying the fine outdoors.
Sayaka, Yuna, Sumika, Ayako & Akane
Yuna is my very special most favorite student. warm-hearted nature and just the right mix of naughty and nice. I don't want to say goodbye to this one!
Taneichi's beach is about 3 minutes, by foot, from my house. Here it is, mid-July, and I have yet to go swimming or lay out on the beach due to the 2 month long rainy season. It was so strange to be THE ONLY people on the beach today (plus 5 guys who were surfing). It's JULY, beautiful beaches like this should be packed! I know its 'summer' back in MN, which makes the cool temps and cloudy skies in Taneichi feel more like early October. I know I should be careful for what I wish for, but when will the heat hit?
Easily amused. First time playing soccer with an exercise ball. quite tricky.
And a HUGE first...the FIRST time students came to my house (with their groceries in hand) and cooked for ME! and the tamagoyaki, spaghetti, melon and fruit jelly dessert was an interesting, but tasty, combination! thank you so much!

You girls rock. I'm gonna miss you! In March you will head off in different directions for high school and I wish you the best! Enjoy it! ;)
