Hey everyone. Had a nice invite from Hikage last nite...wanted to bring Zach, Laura and I to the Misawa US Air Base in Aomori Prefecture. I immediately said YES! and he replied with....pick you up at 7:30 AM. (On a Sunday!....argh, another missed opportunity to sleep in!)
It proved worth it however...we had a chance to eat wonderful American food! chocolate cake, quasi-real pizza, a thai dish and a churro to boot! it was so delicious, another day of self-indulgence! ooooh, and we watched a great air show of a bunch of American fighter jets doing fly bys and aerobatic tricks. it was pretty strange being on the base, like i was in the States again. tons of westerners, english and western foods galore! kinda comforting to know that i can get a taste from back home...just a few hours north.
